MSV Duisburg and 1. FC Nürnberg have officially announced the transfer of Caspar Jander on July 1, 2024. Meanwhile, a striker will arrive at the Wedau from Wednesday.
It’s now official: In the early afternoon of January 2, 2024, MSV Duisburg and 1. FC Nürnberg announced the transfer of Caspar Jander.
The 20-year-old will sign a four-year contract with the second division club on July 1, 2024, until the summer of 2028, according to forecasting information. The midfielder has played 60 competitive matches for MSV to date (two goals, seven assists).
There was no comment from an MSV representative on Jander’s departure in the official announcement from Duisburg. Meanwhile, FCN sporting director Olaf Rebbe commented: “We have been following Caspar for quite some time and have made several attempts. Now we are just happy that he has decided to join us. We see great potential in him and are convinced that he will continue his positive development with us.”
MSV, including Jander of course, will continue their preparations for the third league round on Wednesday (January 3) from 3pm. Guest player Daniel Ontuzans will then also introduce himself at Westender Straße. The 23-year-old striker, who has German-Latvian citizenship, was last under contract in Latvia with first division club RFS. The 1.83-meter man was trained as a youth player at FC Bayern.
MSV Duisburg: Mönchengladbach test set, further test match planned
Following the start of training on Wednesday, Boris Schommers will train with his team twice in Meiderich on Thursday and Saturday, followed by a session on Friday and Sunday.
The test at Borussia Mönchengladbach II on Saturday, January 13, 2024 (in Mönchengladbach without fans, editor’s note) is fixed, another preparation match is planned for the beginning of the second week of January, but not yet fixed.
In the league, MSV Duisburg kick off with an English week. The opener at TSV 1860 Munich (Saturday, January 20, 2024, 4:30 p.m.) will be followed four days later by a home match against Hallescher FC (Tuesday, January 23, 2024, 7 p.m.). It then continues at SSV Ulm (Saturday, January 27, 2024, 2 p.m.)
