In the Regionalliga Nord things are going really well for a former captain of SC Fortuna Köln and SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He is top of the table with his team.
VfB Lübeck have been top of the Regionalliga Nord since Friday evening. The northern club won 3:1 against Atlas Delmenhorst. After ten games, VfB have seven wins and three draws to their credit.
Jannik Löhden was also successful in the latest victory. The former Cologne and Oberhausen player scored the 1:0, his second goal of the season. Löhden and Co. are desperate to be promoted to the 3rd Division and are currently well on the way to achieving their goal.
Löhden signed a two-year contract at Lohmühle last summer until 30 June 2024, which is valid for the Regionalliga and the 3rd League. The 2.01 metre tall left-footer returned to the north with the transfer after nine years in the west.
Löhden, a native of Buxtehude, moved to SV Werder Bremen as a 20-year-old after starting out at TSV Buxtehude Altkloster and SV Ahlerstedt/Ottendorf, where he played for the U23s in the 3rd Division. This was followed by two years at Hannover 96, where he trained with the professional squad at times, sat on the bench a few times in the Bundesliga, but primarily gained playing experience in the U23s.
In the following nine years, he was part of top teams in the Regionalliga West at Viktoria Köln, Alemannia Aachen, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and Fortuna Köln. He was also captain at Oberhausen and currently at Fortuna Köln. In total, he has nine Third Division appearances and 265 games (33 goals) in the North and West Regional Leagues on his CV.
Boland also plays in Lübeck
With Mirko Boland, another player plays for VfB Lübeck who has left his mark in football’s West. The 35-year-old played for MSV Duisburg from the summer of 2004 to the winter of 2009 and also played for the Zebras’ youth team and FC Schalke 04. In Lübeck, he is the lynchpin in midfield. After ten matches, Boland, who was born in Wesel, can look back on two goals and six assists.
