Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi is said to have reached an agreement with a top club. Now it’s all about the transfer fee: BVB has clear ideas

Karim Adeyemi has already completed his first training sessions at Borussia Dortmund – but it’s quite possible that the 22-year-old international won’t have too many more sessions at the club’s headquarters in Brackel. Adeyemi, who was not considered by national coach Julian Nagelsmann for the DFB squad for the home European Championship, is on the verge of a transfer to Italy. According to Italian media, he has reached an agreement with Juventus Turin to join the club in the near future. Provided the transfer fee is right, BVB would not put any obstacles in the way of the attacking player, despite his contract being valid until 2027.

And that will be the most difficult part of reaching an agreement between all parties: as things stand, according to reports from BVB circles, no concrete offer has yet been received from the Italian record champions. However, if the right figures are called up, Borussia Dortmund will be willing to talk. The Gazzetta dello Sport, which claims to have heard that Adeyemi has agreed to join the Old Lady, is expecting a transfer fee of 30 million euros. In Dortmund, however, Borussia are more likely to receive a little more on top of this sum.

After all, at the age of 22, Karim Adeyemi is a highly interesting player who still has room for improvement. In the past season, in which BVB only finished fifth and only qualified for the Champions League by increasing the German starting contingent, the winger scored five goals and provided two assists in 34 competitive appearances

With his speed, Karim Adeyemi has made a name for himself primarily as a counter-attacking player; he struggled somewhat with his role on the wing when the opposition was deep and Borussia Dortmund had to make the play. Adeyemi, for whom BVB transferred around €30 million to RB Salzburg in 2022, only got going late in the second half of last season – by then the European Championship train had already left the station. Nevertheless, he is considered the player of choice for new Juve coach Thiago Motta. The income from this transfer would help Borussia Dortmund to sign further players after Waldemar Anton (VfB Stuttgart/22.5 million euros). Negotiations with Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy are currently stalling due to an unexpectedly discovered knee injury, while Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyon and international Pascal Groß from Brighton & Hove Albion are also being discussed.
