After two new arrivals so far, Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl has promised further reinforcements.
Felix Nmecha is already here, Ramy Bensebaini has signed – but Borussia Dortmund want to make further summer transfers for their next attempt at the Bundesliga championship title. “Yes, we will do something else, in one position or another. We are watching the market and giving a lot, a lot of thought to what the profiles will look like in the end,” said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
Even after the sale of Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), the club is following a “planned process with a clear idea and a clear structure – so nobody needs to worry: We will have a very, very good team.” Bellingham, for whose eighth position Nmecha was brought in from VfL Wolfsburg, was anyway “not to be replaced by just one player”.
BVB have also signed left-back Bensebaini (previously of Borussia Mönchengladbach). However, Kehl also considers the winter transfers Julien Duranville (RSC Anderlecht) and Ryerson (Union Berlin) as new arrivals. The potential in the team is there, he said, “and we believe we can develop further”. It remains to be seen whether “something will happen on the levy side”.
