Kevin Großkreutz is thinking about a job at BVB in the near future

Kevin Großkreutz talks to BVB about a return to his heart club. He also has a special feeling about this summer.

Kevin Großkreutz has won the championship twice with BVB, he has lifted the DFB Cup in the air of Berlin. He became world champion as a Dortmund player, meanwhile the 34-year-old has ended his professional career, you can now find him in the amateur field. But perhaps the Dortmund native will soon return to his heart’s club. Maybe.

In any case, Kevin Großkreutz reports in the amateur soccer podcast “Vierte Halbzeit” of the Ruhr Nachrichten that there is contact and talks. “Who knows if that will not happen soon. It will be seen whether I will do something at the club. Of course, I would go immediately and do everything at BVB.”

The former professional moved from Rot Weiss Ahlen to Borussia Dortmund in 2009. In other words, during the time when Jürgen Klopp had fabulous rock ‘n’ roll soccer played from the sidelines. Großkreutz fit into this concept, and his rise began with the wave of success of the Black-Yellow team. The championship, the cup, the Champions League final, emotions, beer showers, shaved hair: someone like Großkreutz had to become a cult.

In 2015 he left Dortmund, first to Galatasaray Istanbul, then to VfB Stuttgart, then to SV Darmstadt 98, finally to KFC Uerdingen. The luck? Kevin Großkreutz looked for it in vain. Only now does he seem to be feeling really comfortable again, in the amateur sector. He is currently playing for TuS Bövinghausen, and after the summer he will join sixth division club SV Wacker Obercastrop.

BVB legend Kevin Großkreutz: Cologne will make Dortmund champions

In the summer, BVB could perhaps celebrate the German championship. The gap to FC Bayern, which currently resembles FC Hollywood, is two points. “BVB now has to win all its games. And then hope. Possible is the championship,” says Kevin Großkreutz. He has “somehow a dream and a feeling that Cologne will make us champions on the last matchday. Our friends from Cologne do that, win against Bayern, Dortmund wins and is ahead. Then all of Cologne will celebrate together with Dortmund. That would be a cool story, then there will be a party. “
