KFC Uerdingen have made their third winter transfer. This time they have picked up a goalkeeper from Regionalliga club Wuppertaler SV.
KFC Uerdingen has made another move on the transfer market. Payam Safarpour-Malekabad has transferred to the Grotenburg from Wuppertaler SV. The goalkeeper was a substitute keeper for the Bergische last season. Safarpour-Malekabad had been without a club since the summer.
Those responsible around sports director Patrick Schneider and chairman Damien Raths are thus reacting to the absences of the two goalkeepers Timo Meißner and Mika Rudnick. Payam Safarpour-Malekabad played for the WSV as a youth player. Before that, he was trained at the Düsseldorf club SG Unterrath. His brother Schayan last played for Düsseldorfer SC 99.
“With Payam, we are getting a talented goalkeeper who fits well into the team and can fill the vacancy that arose at short notice,” Raths was quoted as saying in the club’s press release.
