After six matchdays, KFC Uerdingen are top of the table in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Coach Alexander Voigt still wants to “make many, many things better.”
KFC Uerdingen celebrated their next victory in the Oberliga Niederrhein and further underlined their role as favourites. After the 3:1 (0:1) at Sportfreunde Baumberg, the coach still sees room for improvement, but was more than satisfied with the points haul.
“15 points out of 18 is not too bad, that’s a very, very good start,” said Alexander Voigt, looking at the table, which sees Uerdingen as the league leaders again after matchday 6. However, the good start should not lead to complacency, so the head coach warns: “But we are still a long way from where we want to be. We’re not at our performance limit, that’s for sure. “
When you win the bad games, that’s always a good sign.

Because the season is still long, something is still missing in terms of play for the hoped-for promotion. “We have to do many, many things better, and we will,” Voigt promises, but is nevertheless very satisfied with the results of his team. And he makes use of an age-old football wisdom: “If you win the bad games, that’s always a good sign.”
Voigt has already given an insight into exactly which adjustments he wants to make. “The spacing between the lines, also exerting dominance away from home and controlling the opponent,” is how the 44-year-old describes his team’s construction sites and the planning for the next few days. “Those are things we want to do better and will do better. We will tackle that this week. Then we’ll see from week to week and game to game how it’s going to be.”
On Matchday 7, the next task awaits the Uerdingen side in the form of Union Nettetal. On Saturday (10 September, 5.30 p.m.), the tenth-placed team in the table is the guest in the Grotenburg. Nettetal have lost all three of their last competitive matches (including their elimination in the Lower Rhine Cup against Landesliga side Sterkrade-Nord on penalties), but Uerdingen have the chance to pick up the next points towards promotion and secure their lead in the table.
