Third division relegated VfB Oldenburg has presented Fuat Kilic’s successor only a few hours after his departure.
It was only announced on Sunday that Fuat Kilic would not be joining VfB Oldenburg as coach in the Regionalliga Nord. The North Germans have put their trust in a new coach after their relegation from the Third League.
The new head coach of VfB Oldenburg is Benjamin Duda. “I am full of energy, full of anticipation and full of drive,” says the 35-year-old football coach.
“We are very pleased that we were able to win Benjamin Duda for VfB Oldenburg. He has already proven in the past that he can convey a clear signature to a team. In addition, he is an infectious type who can transfer his energy to a team and he knows the Regionalliga-Nord,” says sporting director Sebastian Schachten.
After a long and successful stint in the youth department of Eintracht Braunschweig, where he was responsible for the U17s in the youth Bundesliga for eight years, Duda took up his first coaching position in the men’s sector at VfV Hildesheim and led the Cathedral City side from the top division to the regional league. This was followed by stints at Germania Halberstadt and Berliner AK in the Regionalliga-Nordost, in parallel to his 15-month training as a football teacher in Frankfurt.
The way the fans have supported the team in recent weeks, even after relegation was certain, has impressed me a lot. Something has been created here and that motivates me immensely. Our goal must be to continue to inspire people for VfB.

At VfB Oldenburg, Duda is now embarking on the next sporting chapter as head coach. “Of course, I have followed the path of VfB intensively. And I am enormously looking forward to this challenge and the chance at such a traditional club to reaffirm the trust placed in me with maximum commitment,” he said at his introduction.
Duda added: “The way the fans have supported the team in recent weeks, even after relegation was certain, has impressed me greatly. Something has been created here and that motivates me immensely. It must be our ambition to continue to inspire people for VfB. “
