A player from SpVg Schonnebeck moves to the Westfalenliga 2 leaders, where there are also important contract extensions.
FC Brünninghausen is on course for the top division. The Dortmund team leads the Westfalenliga 2 by a narrow margin over Türkspor Dortmund at the winter break.
So far, however, there have been no major announcements from those responsible. The FCB apparently prefers to let action speak for itself. On Thursday, they announced the signing of their second new player this winter.
Mahrab Khan is moving to Brünninghausen. The 21-year-old is at home on the right defensive line and last played for SpVg Schonnebeck. He did not make any appearances for the Niederrhein-Oberliga club until his premature departure in October.
Khan only moved to Schonnebeck in the summer. He previously played for FC Pesch in the Mittelrheinliga and for 1. FC Mönchengladbach, for whom the defender played three times in the Oberliga.
“I read up on the club and its structure in advance and of course the sporting success this season caught my eye,” Khan explained his decision. “The last few years appealed to me, the talks with Reza Hassani and the coaching team went great and I felt appreciated and comfortable straight away.”
Previously, Julian Trapp (TuS Bövinghausen) had already joined the club. And not only that: regardless of the league, coaches Rafik Halim and Florian Gondrum had extended their contracts a few days ago.
Now the commitments of regular goalkeeper Leon Broda and offensive player Dietrich Liskunov followed. “I didn’t have to think long at all. I’m very happy here and it’s just fun with the guys, the coaches,” says a delighted keeper and co-captain Broda. “On top of that, the season is going great again from a sporting point of view. But of course we can’t rest on our laurels.”
Liskunov says: “Everything is very well organised in the club, which I don’t think can be taken for granted. The whole environment is great and I simply feel at home here.
