Finn Pogoreutz outshone even the professionals at the Schalke test. His chants and his passion inspire on site and on the net

A young Schalke fan stole the show from the professionals and even the storm. Brave Finn Pogoreutz from Wanne-Eickel sang well-known fan songs for almost the entire match – with full fervor. Sometimes it was “again and again, again and again, again and again S04”, sometimes he sang: “Forward FC Schalke, score a goal for us.” His repertoire of different battle cries was remarkable.

The fact that Schalke are also cheered on by young fans is nothing special in itself. In Saalfelden, however, the boy was the number one topic of conversation in the stadium. Because he sang alone throughout. He was the only spectator singing. He was also clearly audible in the live broadcast on the Schalke YouTube channel

Some spectators in the Saalfelden Arena smiled at him, but in the end respect for the boy’s stamina prevailed. The Schalke social media department also repeatedly filmed Finn during the match. The reactions online were overwhelming. Dozens of fans commented on the boy’s video. “You have to organize a season ticket for him,” commented one fan. Another: “How proud his dad must be.” There were also jibes against Bundesliga giants: “The boy is louder than the Bayern curve,” wrote one Schalke fan on Instagram.

However, a hoped-for meeting with the professionals after the game was not possible – because the game was abandoned after 81 minutes due to an approaching thunderstorm. The footballers therefore had to do without a lap of honor. But this is to be made up for at the Blue-White Night on Thursday
