Local court admits charges against Schulz

The Dortmund district court has admitted the prosecution’s case against former national soccer player Nico Schulz.

The main proceedings will open before the lay assessor’s court on February 28 at 2 p.m., judge Michael Tebbe confirmed to the SID on Wednesday: “It’s about the charge of dangerous bodily harm.” The Ruhr Nachrichten had previously reported. The presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is handed down.

Borussia Dortmund terminated Schulz’s contract prematurely last summer. Since then, the 30-year-old has been without a club and his last professional appearance was on 7 May 2022. The full-back joined BVB from TSG Hoffenheim for €25 million in 2019
