BVB’s bad luck with injuries has struck again. Another player is facing a long break.
After Julian Ryerson, Felix Nmecha and Youssoufa Moukoko, Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will also be without attacker Karim Adeyemi for a long time.
Adeyemi suffered a partial tear of the syndesmosis in the Champions League match against Paris St. Germain and had to be substituted due to injury. He already missed the Bundesliga game in Augsburg last Saturday due to injury and will not be available to BVB in the coming weeks.
This means that four players will not be available for Dortmund’s final game of the year against FSV Mainz on Tuesday (20:30).
However, the opponent will be hit even harder. Relegation candidates Mainz have to replace six players in Dortmund: Leandro Barreiro (muscle fiber tear in thigh), Joshua Guilavogui (muscle tendon injury in thigh), Andreas Hanche-Olsen (ankle surgery), Maxim Leitsch (muscle injury in thigh), Nelson Weiper (knee arthroscopy) and Robin Zentner (bony injury to finger).
After the match against FSV Mainz 05, the BVB professionals will be off until January 2. They will then head to the training camp in southern Spain for seven days.
From January 3 to 9, 2024, coach Edin Terzic and his players will travel to Marbella, as they did last year. BVB will play a four 30-minute test match against AZ Alkmaar on January 6 at 3 p.m., followed by a match against Standard Liège at 11 a.m. on January 9. The matches will take place at the Banús Football Center training ground (Dama de Noche).
This is how BVB could play against Mainz 05
