On Saturday (15.30), VfL Bochum will start the Bundesliga round against Hertha BSC. This is what Anthony Losilla says about the start and his extension at VfL.
Anthony Losilla, you have extended your contract in Bochum once again, and there is also the possibility of working for VfL after your career. How pleased are you after signing?
I’m looking forward to more years at VfL. The city and the club have grown on me, my family is here, we feel comfortable. The commitment is great, I’m still burning for VfL and ready to support the team on the pitch. I’m also very happy that the people in charge at VfL also have confidence in me, even beyond my active career. I want to help inspire and train future generations of players for VfL.
There are only a few days left until the important home match against Hertha. Are you well prepared?
It’s finally starting, the break was very long. We used the time to prepare well. There is a lot at stake, we are ready.
The seven test matches did not go well, are you worried?
No, even though you should take advantage of the games to rehearse automatisms and get self-confidence, it applies in the championship. And there were enough positive things during the long break. I am sure that we are on the right track.
What speaks in favour of a win against Hertha?
We won the last three home games and invested everything there. That was really good. If we bring that to the pitch against Berlin, then we’ll get something. We are an unpleasant opponent.
What kind of opponent will you be facing, who will have to do without two fast attackers?
That’s difficult to say. After such a long break, nobody knows exactly where they stand. We’ll focus on our game.
Will the chance to leave the relegation places for the first time with a win give you an extra boost?
We have earned this chance through the last two games. With a win, we can overtake Hertha, which releases additional motivation. But that doesn’t mean that everything is over after the match. It’s certainly a very important game, but there are still 18 games after that.
In terms of personnel, things look very good, there are hardly any injuries. Can that be a big advantage?
That’s a very positive thing, we have almost all the players. That’s important, we need the competition to develop the team. Everyone has to give their maximum to help the team. We will still need every player. cb / gp
