SC Wiedenbrück and its managing director are going their separate ways. They will be succeeded by an honorary duo.
Personnel change at the SC Wiedenbrück office: As the club from the Regionalliga West announced on Thursday evening, managing director Christian Pfeil is leaving SCW at the end of the month. The contract has been terminated by mutual agreement, according to a statement.
“We would like to thank Christian for his work over the last few years. He was an essential part of the major upheaval brought about by the new board team. Together, we were able to further develop some parts of the association,” explains CEO Dominik Jansen.
The succession has already been arranged. Patrick Poppe and Nicole Bökamp will take on the role of Managing Director. They have volunteered for this role. Poppe will act as the external contact and oversee the first team’s match operations.
Meanwhile, Bökamp will be responsible for club administration and finance. Christian Hesker and Jens Ossenbrink will support the duo. The change in personnel will not affect the opening hours of the office (Tuesday, Thursday between 5.30 and 7 p.m.)
“A big thank you goes to the new team for expanding their commitment to the club and taking on even more responsibility,” says CEO Jansen. “Christian has already trained the new team. We are pleased that we are also making a smooth transition.”
The sporting action continues at SCW on Saturday. The team will visit 1. FC Düren on matchday 24 of the Regionalliga west (2 p.m., RS live ticker). After just one defeat from their last eight games, Wiedenbrück have maneuvered themselves into a promising position in the relegation battle and currently occupy 13th place in the table.
However, the club faces an uncertain future as its main sponsor will withdraw at the end of the season. The exact consequences of this development for the Regionalliga team are not yet clear
