After leaving FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt, Maximilian Pronichev has found a new club – again in the Regionalliga Nordost.
FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and Maximilian Pronichev ended their partnership at the beginning of December 2023. The striker was allowed to move on a free transfer on January 1, 2024. And now the former Essen player has found a new club. The attacker will play for his former club.
FC Energie Cottbus has reached an agreement with attacker Pronichev to re-sign with the Lusatian club. The 26-year-old was already under contract in Brandenburg in the 2021/2022 season. He played a total of 40 competitive matches for FCE, in which he scored 16 goals and set up twelve assists. The Cottbus management naturally hope that this success story will be repeated.
“In fact, the initiative to return in the first step came to some extent from Maxim himself. We spoke to each other several times and very openly about our mutual ideas. The fact that Maxim was prepared to sign a more performance-related contract gave us the opportunity and encouraged us to make this second attempt together. We know his athletic qualities and we want to transport them back into our attacking play. His record in the FC Energie jersey in the 2021/2022 season speaks for itself,” said Head Coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz.
Berlin-born Pronichev, a former Russian junior international from U15 to U21, learned to play soccer at Berlin clubs Tennis Borussia, Lichterfelder FC and Hertha BSC’s youth academy. He also played for Zenit Sankt Petersburg, FC Schalke 04, FC Erzgebirge Aue, Hallescher FC, Rot-Weiss Essen, SV Horn and most recently FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt.
In 97 regional league matches in the north-east and west, Pronichev has a total of 43 goals and 24 assists to his name. He also scored once in nine third division matches for Hallescher FC and scored four goals and provided four assists in the Austrian 2nd division
