Nobody would have expected this: Successful coach Bartosz Maslon is leaving Landesligist Mülheimer FC 97 – with immediate effect!
Late on Tuesday evening, RevierSport received the news that Mülheimer FC 97 and coach Bartosz Maslon are going their separate ways with immediate effect.
“Yes, I can confirm that. We parted ways amicably after a detailed discussion on Tuesday evening,” the 36-year-old revealed.
The Mülheim team is in third place in the Landesliga, only four points behind leaders SV Scherpenberg. Recently, MFC lost 0:2 in the top match in Scherpenberg, and Maslon was harsh on his team. “When we celebrate victories, it is only in twos or threes. My boys always talk about babos and buddies. But where are we friends? Today we lost to a team. We are simply not a team,” he grumbled to the WAZ.
But what ultimately led to Maslon’s departure from Friesenstraße? The Pole answered RS: “I am a person, a coach who is convinced of what he is doing. When I pursue a goal, I want to achieve it. But as a coach, you also need the support of those in charge. But if they want to take a different path, it simply doesn’t fit. In short, we simply have different views on the club’s sporting prospects. If that’s the case, then I think it’s better to part ways early on than too late. “
This year I’m not doing anything at all and dedicating my precious time to my family. But from January I can imagine everything again. The only thing that’s clear to me is that I want to work for a club that is one hundred percent convinced of me and my coaching team and wants to go a longer way with us.
Bartosz Maslon
Maslon was the coach of Mülheimer FC 97 in 15 competitive games and can look back on a point average of 1.92 points. The successful coach also led the Mülheim team to one of its greatest club successes. In the current Niederrheinpokal competition, MFC only lost 1:2 to regional league team Wuppertaler SV in the round of 16, and then only in extra time, after defeating the upper league teams 1. FC Monheim and TVD Velbert. The latter will now host Rot-Weiss Essen in the quarter-finals.
“I would like to thank those responsible for the trust they have placed in us and, of course, the team. We are playing a good season and there is a lot of potential in the team. I already think that a new coach can lead these boys to the top,” says Maslon.
After Kreisligist VfB Kirchhellen, which he led to the Bezirksliga at the time, and Oberligist FSV Duisburg, Landesligist Mülheimer FC 97 was the B-licence holder’s third head coaching stop. “This year I’m not doing anything at all and I’m devoting my precious time to my family. From January, however, I can imagine everything again. The only thing that is clear to me is that I want to work for a club that is also one hundred percent convinced of me and my coaching team and wants to go a longer way with us,” Maslon emphasises.
His co-coach and brother Michael Maslon, assistant Soumiya Bouhadi, athletics coach Karoj Sindi and goalkeeping coach Lukas Fronczyk are also leaving Mülheim FC 97 with him.
