Rot-Weiss Essen has presented three additions in the last few days. Now, after Luca Dürholtz, another player will also leave RWE.
There has been a lot going on at Rot-Weiss Essen in the last few days: Felix Götze (FC Augsburg, on loan), Andreas Wiegel and Clemens Fandrich (both recently without a club) have arrived and Luca Dürholtz (SV Elversberg) has returned to his former club.
Now RevierSport has learned that Fabian Rüth has also found a new club. RS had already reported that Rüth was in negotiations with a Regionalliga-Südwest representative. The club in question is Rot-Weiß Koblenz. Rüth already said goodbye to his RWE teammates on Tuesday and will be officially introduced in Koblenz on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Rüth, who trained at Bayer Leverkusen (2015 to 2020), only joined Rot-Weiss Essen in the winter of 2022 from TSG Hoffenheim II. But the defensive midfielder could not assert himself at RWE. He leaves Hafenstraße after only half a year and six competitive appearances (two goals, no assists).
At the beginning of August, sporting director Jörn Nowak suggested a move to him despite his contract running until the summer of 2023. The same applies to Erolind Krasniqi and Felix Schlüsselburg, who, according to RS information, currently have no offers on the table. Krasniqi’s move to Alemannia Aachen – as reported by our editorial team – fell through for financial reasons.
