Rot-Weiss Essen defeated Dynamo Dresden with 3:1. The RWE coach was thrilled by the atmosphere, the guests complained about the missed opportunities.
The mood at Rot-Weiss Essen could hardly be improved after the 3:1 win against Dynamo Dresden. The team celebrated with the Westkurve, while RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski gave the first interview on “MagentaSport”.
Away from the performance of his eleven, he was once again thrilled by the support of the fans. His comment on the support: “You have to experience what’s going on here. Really cool to keep the three points here at home.”
He then analyzed the 90 minutes with a cooler head. The ex-professional also knew that the opponent was better for a long time, RWE defended with passion and after the break a new plan. Dabrowski explained, “It’s fantastic to win against the team of the hour. But you saw, especially in the first half, what a brutal game it was for us. We had to survive some dicey situations in one scene or another. We changed things up a bit at the break and then defended compactly in a 5-3-2 system.”
One of the guarantors for the home three-pointer was certainly Felix Götze, who scored up front for 1:0 after a corner and prevented the 1-1 with a crazy tackle on Jako Lemmer at the back. Dabrowski: “Felix did a fantastic game, hats off to the performance.”
The guests were also pleased with their performance. Tobias Kraulich and coach Markus Anfang, however, complained about their chances.
Kraulich analyzed, “We didn’t play a bad away game. In the first half we made good alarm and allowed little. At 0:1, we had a coordination problem. Essen was brutally efficient, which we lacked. RWE changed after the change, there we had some problems, there were fewer compelling opportunities.”
But still enough to take something from Hafenstraße. Initial conclusion: “We showed a really good game, determined everything and dominated Essen. We didn’t score any goals, that was the problem. Something can always happen with standards. RWE made three goals out of three or four shots on goal, was very effective here. “
