Several injured players were absent from Schalke’s professional training session today, Thursday – including Amin Younes.
Two days before the important second division home game against SV Elversberg (Saturday, 1 p.m., Sky), there is a lot going on in the professional team of FC Schalke 04. Nikola Katic (most recently undergoing load control) and Finn Porath (head injury in the KSC game) trained with the team again on Thursday morning, and nothing should prevent the duo from playing against the visitors from Saarland.
Janik Bachmann, on the other hand, is still out with an injury and did not take part in training, unlike U23 talents Khadr, Gulasi, and Wallentowitz, who were allowed to train by Schalke coach Miron Muslic. Meanwhile, the long-term injured players (Tomas Kalas, Timo Becker, Christopher Antwi-Adjei, Christian Gomis, Bryan Lasme, Emil Höjlund, Zaid Tchibara, Johannes Siebeking) are still unable to train.
The same was true for Amin Younes on Thursday. As Schalke informed this editorial team on Thursday afternoon without giving any details, the 32-year-old is also out with an injury. Miron Muslic will comment in detail at the press conference this afternoon (2 p.m.).
Younes was sidelined for months under the coach until he suddenly reappeared in the starting lineup in the last game against Karlsruher SC (1-2), partly due to personnel shortages, and did a decent job. Now, however, the technician seems to be being slowed down again for the time being.
