Things are looking up for ASC 09 Dortmund in the Oberliga Westfalen after the dismissal of Antonios Kotziampassis. A new coach is not an issue for the time being.
Two games, two wins: this is the record of co-coaches Dennis Hübner and Mauritz Mißner, who have taken over from Kotziampassis at ASC Dortmund for the time being.
“Our coaching team is doing very well. It’s going in the right direction again and we’re pleased about that,” praises Samir Habibovic, sporting director of the Dortmund club.
Habibovic says he has received more than 40 applications. “We seem to be an attractive club. We are pleased about that,” he says and adds: “Seriously, we are not looking for a coach at the moment. Things are simply going well at the moment. I also told Dennis that he might be our coach for a week, a month, a year or several years. After all, anything is possible in this business.”
It is clear that Habibovic also knows how the business works: If the interim coach delivers good results, then he can soon be the new head coach. Of course, this is also possible at ASC 09 Dortmund.
After the wins at Sportfreunde Lotte (2:0) and the home victory over TuS Ennepetal (1:0), ASC will travel to the second team of SC Paderborn on Sunday (3 pm). “We want to show our good side there as well and get something,” Habibovic emphasises.
He adds: “We want to build up a bigger lead over the relegation places by the winter break. Maybe we can also get back in touch with the top. That would be the best case scenario, of course. We’ll see what happens in the new year, including the question of the coach. At the moment, however, we in Aplerbeck are very relaxed about this.
