VfL Bochum and Lys Mousset are still not getting along. The attacker did not even sit on the bench in the test matches.
VfL Bochum have played four test matches so far in their winter preparation. Coach Thomas Letsch changed the entire staff at half-time so that all players could show themselves. VfL problem child Lys Mousset was once again left out.
“We have so many players in the offensive line that it is difficult for Lys to play right now.” That was Letsch’s simple explanation after the last test of the year against SC Verl (0:2). No more minutes have been added to the one half against PEC Zwolle (1:3) at the beginning of December for the summer transfer.
Poor fitness level “not a secret “
“It’s just not enough for him at the moment.” Thus it remained with the first and so far only use in the VfL jersey. Letsch said at the time: “It was important for Lys that he simply played 45 minutes. We will look at the preparation block to see how he presents himself.” Obviously, he has not been able to do any self-promotion so far.
“Lys has done nothing wrong,” Letsch clarified, saying it was a purely football-related decision. “It’s no secret that he’s in a condition we don’t want him to be in. It’s not a new story, but in the end it’s also about performance.” Instead, junior attacker Florian Berisha was rewarded with minutes of action against Verl.
Individual training instead of test match
“What I didn’t want to do is put a player on the bench for 100 minutes and then maybe substitute him at the end.” The attacker should use this time elsewhere. “That’s why we did an individual programme with him.”
Whether Mousset will be involved in the test matches in the training camp thus remains questionable. Letsch had announced that the full focus in January would be on the start of the Bundesliga and that it was a matter of getting into the swing of things. “There are always situations where one transfer works and another doesn’t. With Lys Mousset at the moment it seems like it hasn’t worked so far. “
