MSV Duisburg clearly beats Lippstadt in test match

Third division football club MSV Duisburg has won a test match against regional league side SV Lippstadt 4:1 (1:0).

MSV Duisburg took advantage of the compulsory match-free weekend during the first round of the DFB Cup to hold a test match against SV Lippstadt. The Zebras prevailed 4:1 against the regional league team.

Torsten Ziegner sent in a strong eleven after the 0:1 opening defeat against VfL Osnabrück in the 3. Liga, only Marvin Bakalorz and Vincent Müller (individual training) were given “time off”, Aziz Bouhaddouz (precautionary measure) was removed from the match sheet after the warm-up.

Chances were initially created on both sides. SV Lippstadt’s Salmin Rebronja had a chance after a dangerous back pass from Nikki Kölle, but missed the target too hastily (5th). For MSV, Gordon Wild had a free shot from a half-left position, but the ball went over (11th). In the 24th minute, Chine Ekene gave Duisburg the lead. The 23-year-old skirted around the rushing keeper Christopher Balkenhoff and tucked the ball away.

MSV, in the person of Kölle (30th), the lively Moritz Stoppelkamp (36th, 41st) and Ekene (40th), had further opportunities, but it remained 1:0 at the break.

After the change of ends, Marvin Ajani came close to 2:0 with a header (48th) and a direct shot (57th) as well as Stoppelkamp with a free kick (58th, 59th). But it was SV Lippstadt who scored next: Mustafa Delifer took off from the penalty area and scored placed to 1:1 (63rd). Only six minutes later, MSV restored the lead after an exemplary counterattack by Stoppelkamp (69.). Shortly afterwards, Ekene increased the lead to 3:1 with a header (73). Shortly before the end, Alaa Bakir made it 4:1 (83rd) after an assist from the eye-catching Kölle – the final score.

Next Friday (7 p.m., Magenta/RS-Ticker), MSV Duisburg will continue in the 3rd Division with the derby against Rot-Weiss Essen. SV Lippstadt will welcome SV Rödinghausen

in the Regionalliga West on Wednesday, 10 August (6 p.m.).
