The game starts at 2 p.m. in the Duisburg Arena: MSV welcomes Rot-Weiss Essen to the 3rd division derby. We have the team lineups.
“Never change a winning team,” is the motto that Christoph Dabrowski remains true to. The coach of Rot-Weiss Essen is relying on exactly the starting eleven that last defeated 1. FC Saarbrücken 2-1 in the derby at MSV Duisburg.
This also means that former Zebra Andreas Wiegel will initially take a seat on the bench.
Meanwhile, Boris Schommers, coach of MSV Duisburg, has made a few changes after the 0-1 defeat to Arminia Bielefeld – see info box.
With over 27,000 spectators, the derby, which kicks off at 2 p.m., will be almost sold out. Before the game, Red-White Essen are a whopping eleven points ahead of bottom-of-the-table MSV Duisburg. They want to turn things around with a win in the derby.
Boris Schommers, MSV Duisburg: “Basically, it doesn’t matter who we play against, we have to perform at one hundred percent first and I see it as an opportunity. We will have a full stadium, a great atmosphere, many of our fans will support us.”
