Neidhart is “extremely disappointed” – seasoned professionals are on the list

At SV Waldhof Mannheim, things are not going as well as hoped. After winning three state cups in a row, the Mannheim team has now failed to reach the quarter-finals.

Like TSV 1860 München – RevierSport reported – SV Waldhof Mannheim also disgraced themselves in the state cup. Despite taking the lead, the team of ex-Rot-Weiss Essen coach Christian Neidhart lost 1:2 at regional league team FC-Astoria Walldorf. Mannheim had won the Baden state cup in each of the last three years.

Neidhart had clear words for the “Mannheimer Morgen”: “I’m extremely disappointed because I didn’t think we would deliver such a performance after this week of training. That’s all that needs to be said.”

It is quite possible that Neidhart will soon be joined by a seasoned professional. After Marco Höger’s cruciate ligament rupture, the Mannheim team is looking to add another player. This was confirmed by the SVW management around coach Neidhart and manager Tim Schork in an interview with Bild.

Former Bundesliga players are on the list

The list of unemployed central midfielders mentioned in the Mannheim environment includes names such as Marc Stendera (most recently FC Ingolstadt, 78 Bundesliga games), Moritz Leitner (FC Zurich, 97 Bundesliga games), Christoph Moritz (Jahn Regensburg, 96 Bundesliga games) and Dominik Kaiser (Hannover 96, 45 Bundesliga games). These are all big names by third-league standards, but they could probably be managed by the potent SV Waldhof Mannheim.

On Saturday, Mannheim will travel to VfL Osnabrück. After the cup defeat, a win is needed to bring calm back into the Waldhof environment.
