VfL Bochum has strengthened itself at the management level. A new director for marketing and sales has been hired.
VfL Bochum has announced a new addition off the pitch. Tim Jost will take over the position of Director of Marketing and Sales in March. The 37-year-old most recently held a similar position at second-division club Holstein Kiel. Jost succeeds Christoph Wortmann, who had moved to Arminia Bielefeld.
“We are very pleased to have been able to win Tim Jost for VfL Bochum,” Ilja Kaenzig, spokesman for the VfL management, is quoted as saying. Jost had been responsible for the sponsorship area in Kiel since 2017. Three years later, he additionally took over the marketing and sales branches.
“Tim Jost was selected in a lengthy, structured and professional process,” said Kaenzig. “He will enrich our team in many ways, bringing new ideas and approaches to open up fields that will help us develop and further increase our sales figures.”
Jost is a former handball player. At OHV Aurich he played in the 2nd Bundesliga. In addition, Jost studied and once started his career at Sport1. Via the football agency Match IQ, his path led to Kiel – and now to Castroper Straße.
“The future area of responsibility is very appealing to me, also because I can work for one of the most traditional clubs in Germany,” he says himself. “I am already looking forward to soon getting to know all the employees as well as supporters, partners and sponsors and, of course, the great fans of VfL personally. Together, we all have to work on developing VfL bit by bit in all areas in order to achieve the goals we have set ourselves. “
