Now it’s official: FC Kray has unveiled its new coach for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Around a week ago, Forecasting reported that FC Kray had reached an agreement with Bartosz Maslon as coach for the 2024/2025 season. Head of Sport Dennis Blasczyk did not want to confirm this at the time.
The official presentation took place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The 38-year-old Maslon will take over at the Essen regional league club from July 1, 2024.
“I had excellent talks with the sporting management around Dennis Blasczyk and Arian Kadrijaj. I immediately felt that they had confidence in me and that’s always good. FC Kray is a big name in amateur soccer in Essen and is one of the top clubs. I see great potential here and am looking forward to the new challenge,” Maslon told Forecasting.
In the current season, Maslon faced his future club FC Kray as coach of VfB Speldorf. As a promoted team, he led Speldorf into the winter break in 5th place in the table. The newcomers to the Landesliga were also in the round of 16 of the regional cup at the time. However, Maslon and VfB parted ways before Christmas 2023.
After spells at VfB Kirchhellen, FSV Duisburg and Mülheimer FC 97, VfB Speldorf was the fourth club at which Maslon served as head coach. In the future, Maslon wants to attack again – and hopes for a long collaboration
“Of course, my critics will say that Maslon’s tenure has not been long. I have no argument against that. But I’m a guy who always wants to work for the long term when I take office. That’s always my goal. But in soccer, you can’t plan anything and it’s not a wishful thinking game. Sometimes there are simply reasons that lead to a separation being the best solution for both sides. You can’t force anything. I had an excellent feeling during the talks with FC Kray and I am confident that we will work together for a long time,” says Maslon.
And the goals for the new season? Maslon replies: “First of all, I wish the current coaching team and the squad a good finish to the season. In the background, the sporting management is working on the future squad. Once the team is in place, we will have a very busy summer preparation and hopefully get off to a good start to the season. Then we’ll see what’s possible. “
