Rot-Weiss Essen have announced an extension with their current kit supplier one day after their 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund II.
Rot-Weiss Essen and Jako, the team sports specialist from Baden-Württemberg, have extended the contract by a further three years until 30 June 2026.
The contract was signed during Rot-Weiss Essen’s home match (2:0) against Borussia Dortmund’s U23.
“We have a unique partnership with Rot-Weiss Essen, which we have been shaping together very successfully since 2017,” said Tobias Röschl, Director of Marketing & Sales at Jako.
Röschl continued: “We are very proud to be able to develop extraordinary jerseys and special jerseys with this traditional club every year. The special jersey, ‘100 years of Hafenstraße’ from the 2020/21 season or the special jersey ’70 years of short fuffzehn’ from last season, among others, will be remembered as great projects. Another emotional highlight of the past contract period was of course the promotion to the 3rd league last summer. We are looking forward to the coming years and many more highlights!”
RWE board member Marcus Uhlig said: “The good partnership is expressed not least in our home jerseys. The individual outfits created in cooperation with our agency Altobelli and Jako are incredibly popular with the fans.
Whether the iconic RWE song ‘Opa Luscheskowski’ in pinstripes or the suggested Westkurve on the jersey: Jako is a flexible and reliable partner when it comes to incorporating unusual ideas and conceptions. The jersey in which we achieved promotion to the Third League in 2022 is particularly memorable: The integrated Essen city map combines this unique experience for every fan and athlete with the deep connection to our home city.
