Christian Dorscheid, fan representative of MSV Duisburg, will become the Zebras’ security officer from 1 July 2023. A successor has now been found in Marion Schübel.
On 1 July 2023, there will be a change in fan support at MSV Duisburg. Christian Dorscheid, who has been in charge up to now, will leave his post as fan officer and will be the Zebras’ security officer from the coming season.
He will be replaced by Marion Schübel. The 57-year-old insurance specialist was born in Meiderich and has been active in the MSV for many years, especially in an honorary capacity, explained the club. Among other things, she organised away trips with the Zebra bus and the flag bearers at home games. In over 40 years, Schübel had missed virtually no Duisburg match.
So now she also holds an official post. “With Marion Schübel, we have found a personality for the position in fan support who knows her way around through her voluntary work and who has been committed to MSV for many years,” said a delighted Peter Mohnhaupt.
Schübel “knows the facets of the fan scene”.
The managing director explained: “Marion has been in very close contact with her predecessor Christian Dorscheid over the past years. From her decades with the Spielverein, she knows the complex interrelationships and the various facets of the fanscene.”
Schübel will begin her term of office with MSV Duisburg’s family day on 1 July. The third-division club will then invite fans to the big season opening from 12 noon, including “show training” and a supporting programme.
Schübel wants to approach the new task “with heart and passion”. To this end, she expressed a wish: “It is important to me that we all treat each other respectfully at all times in the club, because we are all pursuing the same goal.”
She will be supported in her new position by Viktoria Sprung (Inclusion Officer) and Andreas Bonitz (Fan Officer), who, according to the press release, have also “made a very strong voluntary contribution to the fan base in recent years”.
