VfL Bochum has found a new sleeve sponsor. The contract runs for several years – until 2029.
Until now, the sleeve on VfL Bochum’s new jerseys has remained blank – now the local club has found a new sponsor. Bochum have agreed a long-term contract with the company MTEL until the end of the 2028/29 season. In addition to sleeve sponsorship, the telecommunications service provider will become a premium partner. VfL supporters will be able to have the flock printed on their current jerseys in the fan store at the start of the new season.
This means that VfL now has long-term planning security. Last summer, the club was only able to announce the signing of “think about IT” as sleeve sponsor late in the season.
Successor MTEL offers mobile and television services and has four branches in Germany – the closest to Bochum is in Recklinghausen. A store is also to be opened in Bochum in the near future.
“The talks with MTEL, which have been ongoing for several months, were characterized by a high level of mutual trust and professionalism. The partnership offers great added value for both sides,” explains Bochum Marketing Director Tim Jost.
And further: “We are delighted that we have developed a strategy with MTEL for entering the German market that will benefit both partners. Over the course of the partnership, we will also implement fan-centric telecommunications offers in addition to classic sponsorship and reach communication.” According to the club, a joint product is to be developed. Further information will follow.
“MTEL” is part of the Telekom Serbia Group and has also been active on the German market for a short time. Bojan Obradovic, CEO of MTEL Germany, explains: “We have chosen VfL Bochum as a long-term partner because we approach every challenge with the same passion and energy as the fans and their families do when supporting VfL. It is precisely them who will benefit most from the future, tailor-made offers. We want to give back the sympathy and determination that we have found at VfL Bochum. We are convinced that we will create a win-win situation for everyone – for the fans and the club as well as for MTEL Germany.”
CEO Stefan Bozic also announced: “MTEL Germany is already preparing a special surprise for all VfL members from the start of the season. Stay up to date and follow us on our channels to stay informed. “
