The Sportfreunde Siegen have announced the next new arrival. It is already the fifth player to come from the city’s neighbour.
Sportfreunde Siegen saved themselves by the skin of their teeth at the end of a turbulent season. The traditional club will compete in the Oberliga Westfalen again next season – and then wants to return to sunnier regions of the table.
In order to achieve this, the squad will be rebuilt this summer and coach Patrick Helmes’ team will undergo a radical change. In the meantime, the ninth newcomer has been confirmed: Kevin Krumm comes to Leimbachtal from 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn.
The left-back is already the fifth player to move from the city’s neighbour to Sportfreunde – which is not really surprising after Kaan’s voluntary withdrawal.
Krumm explains: “I would like to continue playing at a higher level in the region and also have the opportunity to enter professional life alongside football – that was very important to me.”
The 26-year-old spent the past three years with Kaan-Marienborn and was promoted to the Regionalliga with the club last summer. He played 18 games in the past season and was set for long stretches.
SF Siegen: Nine Additions and Ten Departures
Now he will continue his career with Siegen in the Oberliga. “I expect a lot from the new season,” emphasises the newcomer. “I’m looking forward to a great club, a super team and, above all, a lot of fans behind me, so hopefully we can achieve a lot.”
And that together with his previous teammates Mats-Lukas Scheld, Arthur Thomas, Daniel Waldrich and Julian Bibleka, who have also signed with Sportfreunde. In addition, the club has signed Maximilian Kraft (TSV Weißtal), Rikuhei Nabesaka, Lars Schardt (both TuS Erndtebrück) and Marvin Hartmann (TSV Steinbach II).
On the other hand, there are currently ten departures – six of which were announced by the Siegen club a few days ago. They are Marcel Mosch, Marcel Becker, Moritz Brato, Leandro Fünfsinn, Till Hilchenbach and Julian Jakobs.
It is not yet known where they will play in the future. So far, it is only certain that Fünfsinn will move to the relegated TuS Erndtebrück – just like Niklas Pirsljin and Benit Dinaj before him. It was also already known that Arda Nebi will be moving to SG Wattenscheid and Furkan Yilmaz will be playing for the second team of TSV Steinbach in the future.
