The MSV Duisburg has struck again on the transfer market. A striker arrives from the Regionalliga Südwest.
From FSV Frankfurt to MSV Duisburg: A new chapter begins for Jihad Boutakhrit this summer. The 24-year-old has signed for the Zebras. “I’m really looking forward to the task and the time here in Duisburg, I’m really fired up! It’s a great challenge, I’ll throw everything into it so that we can have successful years here together with the club,” he said.
He shares his anticipation with his new coach Dietmar Hirsch: “We had good talks with Jihad, you can tell he’s on fire for this job. He also played in a central position in Frankfurt, but above all he is very quick, comes over the wings and offers a lot of deep runs. Jihad is also technically good, which means he can also play with his back to goal. He made a name for himself in Frankfurt and previously in Hoffenheim – I’m delighted that he’s now joining the club,” said Hirsch, who himself only made the move from Bocholt to Duisburg a few days ago.
Boutakhrit played in 32 of 34 matches for FSV last season. He scored 9 goals and set up 6 goals for the team from Bornheimer Hang. In total, he scored 24 goals and collected 16 assists in his five regional league seasons (128 games).
Squad planner Chris Schmoldt revealed that the 24-year-old had been a candidate for some time: “We’ve had Jihad on our radar for quite some time. Offensively, he can play in several positions and is characterized above all by his speed and determination. In our talks, he showed us that he still wants to achieve a lot and is prepared to work hard to do so. That suits the club!”
The planning for the coming season in the Regionalliga West is therefore continuing at full speed at MSV Duisburg. It will be their first season in the fourth division. In Boutakhrit, they now have a man who already knows his way around this division
