Next new player – two men leave: “I’m sorry for him”

For the Essen regional league club VfB Frohnhausen, the season is not going as planned. Coach Issam Said is currently making changes to the squad.

VfB Frohnhausen lost 1-0 at VfB Speldorf on the 2nd Sunday in Advent. A defeat that particularly annoyed Issam Said.

“We didn’t play badly at all and it wasn’t bad at all. With the score at 0-0, we had our chances. But unfortunately the ball wouldn’t go in. It was clear that the team that scored the first goal would win. Unfortunately, from our point of view, that’s how it ended up 1-0 to Speldorf,” said Said, coach of VfB Frohnhausen. Kevin Mahoumed (62) scored the goal of the day in front of 100 spectators.

The defeat in Speldorf was the fourth defeat in a row for VfB Frohnhausen. Said knows what the time has come. With 18 match days to go, the “Frohnhausen Lions” are four points off the safety of the drop zone.

“We need experience. I will try to bring in some experienced players to turn things around,” he announced. With Kai Hoffmann (SV Burgaltendorf) – Forecasting reported – Frohnhausen has already made its first winter signing.

Now the second has followed. “We have also signed Abdul Semmo from ESC Preußen. He’s a strong left-back who will help us further,” said Said happily. A defender and an attacking player are still to follow.

In the meantime, however, three or even four players will be leaving Raumerstraße. Two of them, Leotrim Kryeziu and Almir Sogolj, have already left and can look for new clubs in the winter. “They are real characters. I’m sorry for the boys too. Especially for Almir. Almir entertained the whole dressing room and created a really good atmosphere. But he’s 40 years old and just isn’t good enough for the national league anymore. I had to realize that,” says Said, who only lured the former Oberliga player to Frohnhausen at the end of August.

Next Saturday (December 16, 3 p.m.), Frohnhausen will host Arminia Klosterhardt in the last game of the year. The team from Oberhausen currently have a six-point lead over the team from Essen with one less game played than VfB. Said: “This is already a small final game. If we lose, then we’re in deep trouble. But if we win, we’ll be right back in the mix and can celebrate Christmas with peace of mind. “
