Fc Wegberg-Beeck has signed a new right-back shortly before the start of the season. He comes from abroad.
When FC Wegberg-Beeck starts the Regionalliga season against Fortuna Düsseldorf’s U23 on Saturday (2 p.m., RS-Liveticker), a new right-back could be with the promoted team.
FCWB has signed Leon Pesch, the club announced on Thursday. The German-Croatian moves to Wegberg from the junior squad of Dutch club Fortuna Sittard.
Previously, the 19-year-old was trained for twelve years at Bayer Leverkusen. He made ten appearances for the works club in the U19 Bundesliga West. Pesch also played twice for the Croatian U19 national team.
Now he wants to take the next steps in his fledgling career with the regional league club from the Dutch border. At the beginning of the month, Pesch had tried to recommend himself for a contract at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He had played in test matches for the cloverleaves.
Now, however, it’s on to Wegberg-Beeck for him. With Maurice Passage, an institution on the right side of defense has left the club this summer. In the team of coach Mark Zeh, Pesch is the tenth external newcomer. On the other hand, there are eight departures.
