Next new – two men go: “I’m sorry for him”

For the Essen Landesliga club VfB Frohnhausen, the season is not going as planned. Coach Issam Said is currently making changes to the squad.

On the second Sunday of Advent, VfB Frohnhausen lost 1-0 at VfB Speldorf. It was a defeat that particularly annoyed Issam Said.

“We didn’t play badly at all and it wasn’t bad at all. We had our chances when the score was 0-0. Unfortunately, the ball just wouldn’t go in. It was clear that the team that scored the first goal would win. Unfortunately for us, it was 1-0 to Speldorf,” said Said, coach of VfB Frohnhausen. Kevin Mahoumed (62nd minute) scored the only goal of the game in front of 100 spectators.

The defeat in Speldorf was already the fourth bankruptcy in a row for VfB Frohnhausen. Said knows what time it is. With 18 matches remaining, the “Frohnhauser Lions” are four points behind the safety line.

“We need experience. I will try to sign some experienced players to turn things around,” he announced. With Kai Hoffmann (SV Burgaltendorf) – Forecasting reported – Frohnhausen already made its first winter signing.

Now the second has followed. “We have also signed Abdul Semmo from ESC Preußen. He is a strong left back who will help us,” Said is pleased to report. A defender and an offensive player are to follow.

Meanwhile, three or even four players will leave Raumerstraße. Two men, namely Leotrim Kryeziu and Almir Sogolj, already know and can look for new clubs in the winter. “These are great characters. I’m sorry for the boys too. Especially for Almir. Almir entertained the whole cabin and really brought a good mood into it. But he’s 40 years old and that’s just not good enough for the regional league anymore. I had to realize that too,” says Said, who only lured the former Oberliga player to Frohnhausen at the end of August.

Next Saturday (December 16, 3 p.m.), Frohnhausen will host Arminia Klosterhardt in the last game of the year. Oberhausen currently have a six-point lead over Essen despite having played one game less than VfB. Said: “This is a bit of a final. If we lose, we’re in deep trouble. But if we win, we’re back in the thick of it and can celebrate Christmas with peace of mind.”
