Preußen Münster subordinates everything to sporting success. The march through to Bundesliga 2 is still possible. So here’s a statement on the speculation surrounding Peter Niemeyer, nothing more.
SC Preußen Münster is playing a great season in the 3rd division as a promoted team. Despite the recent home defeat against leaders Jahn Regensburg, it is still possible for the club to make it through.
That’s why the club doesn’t need any unrest. This came about because “BILD” reported that managing director Peter Niemeyer is to move to SV Werder Bremen in the summer. There he would succeed Clemens Fritz as head of the licensing department. He is to be promoted to head of the professional division.
A move that would also make sense due to his past in Bremen and the successes he was responsible for in Münster. The club spoke out on Monday. In a statement, it said: “The committees of SC Preußen Münster have taken note of the media publications that have appeared in relation to a possible agreement between sports managing director Peter Niemeyer and SV Werder Bremen. However, SC Preußen Münster makes it clear: “In the past and currently there is an intensive exchange between Peter Niemeyer and SC Preußen, which is based on great mutual trust.”
Niemeyer would therefore have always informed his superiors if there were any inquiries. He also has a contract until June 30, 2025 – without an exit clause, as the Prussians revealed.
Therefore: “The club’s intention is to continue the absolutely trusting and successful cooperation. Peter Niemeyer has a current contract until June 30, 2025 – without an exit clause. A premature transfer of Peter Niemeyer can therefore currently only come about if an agreement has been reached between a potential future club and Preußen Münster. The fact is that no club has yet contacted SC Preußen Münster in this regard. “
