No appearances – does former Schalke player Taylan Bulut want to return? This is what Besiktas has to say

Taylan Bulut has not played a significant role at Besiktas Istanbul so far. Now his father is said to have demanded a transfer back to Germany. Besiktas is refuting the rumors.

Since his transfer from FC Schalke 04 to Turkey, 19-year-old Taylan Bulut has spent most of his time on the bench.

He has not played at all under coach Sergen Yalcin for two months. Bulut played his first and so far only game from the start in October. In addition, he made a brief appearance immediately after his transfer from S04. He came on as a substitute for five minutes against Eyüpspor and was essentially introduced to the home crowd. Of 15 possible games in the Süper Lig, Bulut has only been on the pitch twice.

That’s not enough for the right-back, who was poached from Gelsenkirchen for €6 million before the start of the season. That’s why rumors have been circulating in the colorful Turkish sports press in recent days that Bulut wants to return to Germany. His father is said to be pushing for the transfer. Besiktas Istanbul responded with an unusually open statement: “The reports circulating in print, image, and social media that the father of our professional soccer player Taylan Bulut spoke on the phone with our president Serdal Adalı and said that our player was unhappy and wanted to return to Germany are completely unfounded,” Besiktas wrote in a statement. “We urge our fans not to believe such rumors spread behind closed doors before the transfer window.”

The U17 European champion will therefore have to continue to line up behind the experienced Sazdagi and wait for his chance. On Friday, the club announced that it was parting ways with three players. Bulut was not among them.
