A club-less professional with experience from the 1st and 2nd divisions is currently training with MSV Duisburg. That’s what’s behind it.
Experienced training guest at MSV Duisburg: Thomas Pledl is currently taking part in the Zebras’ training sessions. The 28-year-old has been without a club since the summer, most recently playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf. And the offensive player brings a lot of experience with him. Pledl has made twelve appearances in the Bundesliga, and even played 170 games in the German lower league. In addition to Fortuna, clubs such as FC Ingolstadt, SV Sandhausen and Greuther Fürth are on his CV.
“He has asked if he can train with us, and we are happy to allow him to do so,” Duisburg sports director Ralf Heskamp is quoted as saying by the club. However, the Zebras’ fans should not hope for a permanent commitment, because according to Heskamp, that is not an issue.
At the same time, fresh personnel would do MSV good. The Meiderich side have been dogged by injury woes, with Benjamin Girth (shoulder joint dislocation), Rolf Feltscher (torn inner ligament), Leroy Kwadwo (hip injury), Marvin Knoll (calf strain), Alaa Bakir (torn meniscus) and Caspar Jander (torn ligament) currently out.
