There’s a lot going on at Bonner SC on the last day of the transfer window. Two players are gone, one new player has arrived.
There’s still plenty going on at Bonner SC: on the last transfer day, known as Deadline Day, the Rhine Lions welcomed a new goalkeeper, Luca Schmidt (19), to Sportpark Nord.
Despite his young age, the 1.90-meter-tall goalkeeper already has plenty of experience from the youth and professional ranks. In addition to his time in Kerkrade, Schmidt previously played for Alemannia Aachen and Fortuna Sittard. Sports director Daniel Zillken is looking forward to the new addition: “Luca has made a very good impression in training. He is a talented goalkeeper who fits perfectly into our concept and can develop optimally here,” he said.
Just on Saturday, Bonner SC signed Elias Bördner: another goalkeeper. “With Elias, we have signed a very young and exciting goalkeeper. He has very good physical and athletic qualities and has already gained experience in professional soccer at Viktoria and Alemannia Aachen,” said Zillken.
Last season, Bördner made 13 appearances in the 3rd division. He received his football training at Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth academy. He then signed with Viktoria Cologne before moving to Alemannia in Aachen. In total, he has 21 third division games under his belt.
Jens Fikisi, on the other hand, is leaving the Rheinlöwen and moving to Mittelrheinliga club Siegburger SV. “With his commitment and reliability, Jens has made valuable contributions to our team in recent months,” writes the fourth division club.
Hendrik Strobl will also be leaving Bonner SC. Due to career changes, the offensive player will not be able to continue his career at BSC. It is currently unclear where he will play next. Bonner SC thanked both players for their dedication, passion, and commitment on and off the field.
