Bitter news for Sportfreunde Siegen. An attacking player will miss the relegation-threatened Oberliga club for a long time.
Injury woes continue to plague Sportfreunde Siegen’s Oberliga team.
After Daniel Waldrich was already out with tendinitis and Eli Pinner broke his fibula in a test against his own U19 team, attacking player Lars Schardt has now also been hit in training. He will also miss coach Thorsten Nehrbauer for a long time.
After the 27-year-old Schardt landed awkwardly on his shoulder in training, he had to leave the session early. The diagnosis is now known to be an acromioclavicular joint fracture and Siegen will have to do without Schardt, who still has to serve two games of his suspension this season.
Coach Nehrbauer should be all the more pleased that three winter signings have been made so far.
With Markus Pazurek, the Oberliga club recently signed an absolute veteran for the defensive midfield. The 35-year-old comes from SSVg Velbert, for whom he made 16 appearances and scored five goals in the first half of the Regionalliga West season.
Pazurek brings with him the experience of 154 games in the 3rd division for Fortuna Köln, 1. FC Saarbrücken and VfB Stuttgart II. The family man also played 167 games in the Regionalliga West for clubs such as 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn, Borussia Mönchengladbach II and SSVg Velbert.
The relegation-threatened traditional club had previously caused a stir with the signing of Andre Dej. The 31-year-old most recently played for league rivals TuS Bövinghausen.
The versatile midfielder Dej has already played 90 games in the 3rd division for Viktoria Köln and Sportfreunde Lotte. He scored eleven goals and made 14 assists. He has also made 184 appearances in the Regionalliga West (25 goals, 22 assists) for Rot Weiss Ahlen, Fortuna Köln, Alemannia Aachen, Lotte, Viktoria Köln – and Sportfreunde Siegen.
Pazurek and Dej are the second and third winter reinforcements. Previously, Siegen also signed Georgios Mavroudis (SG Finnentrop/Bamenohl). Meanwhile, Maximilian Kraft (TSV Weißtal) and Andreas Busik (destination unknown) have left the club
