Strengthening for Rot Weiss Ahlen: A player from the 3rd division joins the club on loan from the Regionalliga West.
Reducing the size of the squad and strengthening it with two or three experienced players – that is Rot Weiss Ahlen’s plan for the current transfer period.
For this reason, several candidates to whom the club has suggested a transfer were already missing at the start of training. And the termination of Gerrit Kaiser’s contract, which RS had already reported on in advance, became official this Monday. The striker is moving to his former club SV Lippstadt.
But at the beginning of the week, the Ahlen club announced another new addition: Dominik Klann is the first new winter signing. The 23-year-old comes to the Werse from SC Verl. He has been loaned out by the third division club until the end of the season. In Verl, Klann only made five league appearances during the first half of the season (once in the starting eleven).
The defensive midfielder only joined the SCV in the summer. He had recommended himself for the step into the higher league with good performances at Preußen Münster. In 2019, Klann had moved up from the Preußen youth team to the Regionalliga team.
53 appearances he made for the first team. Last season, in which Münster missed out on promotion by a hair’s breadth, Klann was a regular at times. Now the Essen-born player, who played in the Schalker Knappenschmiede in his youth, is expected to help RWA stay in the league.
Andreas Golombek’s team is spending the winter in a relegation spot, but is only one point behind the save shore.
