The RB fan who collapsed before the cup round of 16 match between Hoffenheim and Leipzig died in hospital on Thursday.
A day after being resuscitated, the person who collapsed at the stadium entrance of Bundesliga football club RB Leipzig ahead of the Saxons’ Cup round of 16 match has died in hospital. This was announced by the club on Thursday afternoon. The Leipzig club did not provide further details on the circumstances, but expressed “our condolences and sympathy” to the “relatives and friends” of the deceased.
The fan had collapsed at an entrance gate to Leipzig’s arena before the Cup defender’s match against TSG Hoffenheim (3:1). “At the stadium entrance, a person had to be resuscitated before the match, received emergency medical care and was taken to hospital,” Leipzig announced shortly afterwards about the “medical emergency”.
