FC Hansa Rostock have found a new head coach just days after Patrick Glöckner was sacked.
Alois Schwartz has found a new job just one month after his leave of absence from SV Sandhausen: He will succeed Patrick Glöckner at FC Hansa Rostock.
The 55-year-old football coach was most recently on the sidelines at league rivals SV Sandhausen, where he was relieved of his duties in February 2023.
He had previously coached the team since September 2021 and narrowly avoided relegation last season. Now he is set to do the same with the Hansa cog.
Martin Pieckenhagen, FC Hansa Rostock’s director of sport, says: “It was important to us that we bring in a coach who knows the fight to stay in the second division. Therefore, we are glad that the talks with Alois Schwartz have led to a quick agreement and that he can already start his work today and get to know the team. With his many years of experience and the unity of the entire club, we want to get back on track for success in the remaining games of the season.”
Alois Schwartz once played for Rot-Weiss Essen and MSV Duisburg
