1. FC Bocholt leads the Regionalliga West by five points. The current squad’s record player talks about the recipe for success.
The stadium magazine of 1. FC Bocholt, “Am Ball”, spoke to Marc Beckert about the current season.
The defensive specialist celebrated his 250th competitive match for 1. FC Bocholt in the 3-0 win over Alemannia Aachen.
Marc Beckert in the stadium magazine “Am Ball” about…
… his role in Dietmar Hirsch’s team: “I’ve been playing soccer for a long time and have already had one or two successes, with more or less two promotions and then a fight for survival in the regional league last year with many experienced players. Of course, my role in the team has changed a bit this year. In the last few years, age and experience didn’t play such a big role, we had several players who brought that with them. Now we’ve had such a huge upheaval and so many young players, I’ve simply realized that I’m now required to take on even more responsibility and pass on my experience. “
When we step out of the tunnel, every one of us feels it, it’s something very special that gives us additional motivation and inspires us during the game.

.. Bocholt’s recipe for success: “Above all, the great team spirit we’ve developed within the squad. But also wanting to give everything and not resting on our laurels in first place in the table. But my assessment of the boys is that we won’t be resting on our laurels now, but will continue to go full throttle in training. Nothing will change. We have simply understood, also through the key games I mentioned, that we can only be so successful as a collective. In the Regionalliga, anyone can beat anyone and we are in the fortunate position of being able to win every game with our confidence.”
… the home strength: “We’ve now been unbeaten at the Hünting for seven games. Our opponents now not only want to be the first team to beat us at Hünting, but also the leaders of the regional league. That makes it more difficult for us. But we know that we can rely on the support of our fans at the Hünting. The special thing about this atmosphere is that our fans really do create a unique backdrop. When we step out of the tunnel, every one of us feels it, it’s something very special that gives us additional motivation and spurs us on during the game.”
… the club’s third division announcement: “I just think it’s logical and consistent of the management to take these steps, which are also necessary to continue working on the stadium’s infrastructure and make it even more pleasant for all spectators. But we as a team are not really concerned with that, we are concerned with ourselves. We remain humble and grounded and simply concentrate on our work. The club does that very well. Everyone stays focused on themselves and does their homework. Our task is to play as successfully as possible and to give our best performance in every game and strive for maximum success. So it’s definitely a nice side note that things are becoming more professional. With the development of the club and the results, we provide some arguments and of course I also hope that the city will honor that and take even more influence and support the club to be able to take the next steps. “
