After a good home match and, above all, a 3:2 win over TSG Hoffenheim, VfL Bochum now want to do better away from home. They travel to 1. FC Union Berlin.
1. FC Köln 23, FSV Mainz 05 28, VfL Bochum and Union Berlin 30 and VfL Wolfsburg 34 points: There is still a lot of tension in the Bundesliga basement. Especially when it comes to the question of who will end up in the unloved 16th relegation spot currently held by Mainz.
Bochum, like all other clubs, naturally want to prevent this scenario. At the moment, VfL seem to have a good chance of staying in the relegation zone. After the 3:2 win over TSG Hoffenheim, the club now wants to go one better on Sunday (May 5, 3:30 p.m.) at 1. FC Union Berlin.
Forecasting spoke to Bochum right-back Felix Passlack, who has been a regular for the last five games, ahead of the game.
Felix Passlack, what did you do on the two days off after the Hoffenheim game?
I spent a lot of time with my family and enjoyed the beautiful weather. My dogs were also happy about the time off.
Would you say that you have finally arrived at VfL Bochum?
If you look at my season, it’s also been a rollercoaster of emotions. At the beginning I played a lot, then I was completely out, now I’ve been fighting my way back for a few weeks. But I would also say that I’ve finally arrived at VfL.
Why does the team find it so difficult away from home?
Of course we miss the spectators who are here in Bochum. It’s phenomenal what goes on in the Ruhrstadion. But we have to show the same intensity in Berlin as we do at home. I believe we can do that this time and put it into practice.
What needs to happen for VfL to take three points from Berlin?
It’s important that we do what we did against Hoffenheim on Friday on the pitch on Sunday in Berlin. We simply have to do that. The whole situation at Union is not easy either. They played in the Champions League, then changed coaches and have to be careful in the table. I think we have a good chance of winning in the capital. wozi with gp
