Bitter departure for MSV Duisburg: Kaan Inanoglu was not one of the 19 players who took part in the MSV training session on Monday (June 17). He signed elsewhere.
When MSV Duisburg kicked off their Regionalliga West preparations on Monday, June 17, Kaan Inanoglu was with a Bundesliga club and signed a professional player contract until June 30, 2026, according to information from Forcasting.
Forcasting had already reported the day before that Inanoglu would be leaving Duisburg to sign for a Bundesliga club. The secret was revealed on Monday: the 18-year-old striker will join Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 team, which plays in the Regionalliga Südwest. Here he will replace Noel Futkeu, who has moved to Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth.
Nino Berndroth, Head of Frankfurt’s U17 to U21 squad planning, says: “Kaan is a strong and robust striker who scored an outstanding number of goals in the A-Junior Bundesliga West last season. He has been a permanent member of MSV Duisburg’s professional squad in the 3rd division since the start of the year, gaining his first experience in men’s soccer. Kaan now wants to continue to get used to the U21s and further his development. We are confident that he will be able to take the next steps and are delighted that he will be wearing the eagle on his chest in the future.”
Born and raised in the USA, the Turk played for the Dallas Texans, among others, in his youth. In March 2021, the center forward moved to Germany for the first time when he joined the German Football Boarding School (DFI) Bad Aibling.
After another stint in the USA with the Boston Bolts, Inanoglu moved to the U19s of MSV Duisburg last summer. In 15 games in the A-Junior Bundesliga West, the attacker made a name for himself with 13 goals and one assist and was rewarded with his first professional appearances: the Turkish U19 international made a total of six appearances for the Zebras’ professional team in the 3rd division up to the end of the season.
