SV Lippstadt has lost important players this summer. Phil Halbauer is one of them.
In addition to captain Finn Heiserholt (FC Schalke 04 II), SV Lippstadt must also cope with the departure of Phil Halbauer. The winger was Lippstadt’s most successful scorer in the 2022/2023 season with seven goals and seven assists.
No wonder that the 24-year-old also flirted with a move to the 3rd League. But that will not happen. Nor will he move to Wuppertaler SV, who, according to forecasting information, were hot for Halbauer’s services. Halbauer will be moving to the top club of the Northeast Regional League, FC Energie Cottbus. The Lusatians made the official announcement.
“It is particularly important for our planning that we want to sign players who were regulars and top performers at their previous clubs. That should also be a difference to last year. Phil is such a player, who can also boast a starting eleven quota of well over 90 per cent in the Regionalliga West. He is a fast and robust winger with offensive drive, but also defensive qualities. The talks with him have shown us that he is enthusiastic about the club and the prospects here, which makes us very happy,” said Cottbus coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz.
Halbauer took his first footballing steps in the youth section of DSC Arminia Bielefeld and later auditioned for FC Schalke 04’s youth development centre. In the summer of 2021, he moved from the second team of Schalke to SV Lippstadt 08. In the past two seasons, Phil Halbauer has always been a regular player in Lippstadt and has played 65 competitive games for this year’s team in the Regionalliga West.
FC Energie Cottbus: Ten Players Leave
Meanwhile, the Cottbus side, who failed to beat Spielvereinigung Unterhaching in the relegation to the 3rd Division, also announced ten departures.
Tobias Eisenhuth (Jahn Regensburg), Ali Abu Alfa (VSG Altglienicke), Jonas Böhmert, Niklas Geisler, Edgar Kaizer (all FSV Luckenwalde), Malcolm Badu (Rot-Weiß Erfurt), Niclas Erlbeck (Chemnitzer FC), Eric Hottmann, Korbinian Moye and Nicolas Wähling (all destination unknown) will leave the Lausitz club.
