“Ping-Pong-Billiard goal” annoys coach – anticipation for Bayern is great

SC Preußen Münster may not have won on Saturday, but they still managed to boost their self-confidence for the big game against Bayern.

In the end, it was a 1-1 draw between the promoted third division teams SC Preußen Münster and VfB Lübeck. A result that was acceptable after 90 minutes. Even if the Münster team would have been happier with a home win.

“It is extremely bitter. We fight our way into the game, reward ourselves in the pressure phase and then we concede a goal like that. That’s difficult to put into words,” Sebastian Mrowca told “nullsechs.tv”.

The midfielder continued: “We wanted to exert more pressure after half-time. We were then more aggressive and created some good chances. At the end, we could have defended better or, best of all, added a second goal.”

Münster’s scorer Gerrit Wegkamp added: “It is a fair draw. But of course it’s also very bitter for us, because we actually survived Lübeck’s pressure phase. But then we concede another goal. That is bitter.”

On Tuesday (26 September, 8.45pm), Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern Munich will now come to Hammer Straße. The 1st round of the DFB Cup is on the agenda.

Now the Bavarians are to come. All of Münster has been looking forward to this game for a long time – us too.

Sascha Hildmann

Münster coach Sascha Hildmann, who until now had wanted to talk little to nothing about the highlight against Bayern, is now looking forward to this match-up.

“Yes, we have to accept the 1:1. We had good and bad phases, where Lübeck did well, in the game. We take the lead, have a lot of actions and are not given a clear handball penalty. That put us at a bit of a disadvantage. Then we concede a ping-pong goal like that. We’ll take the point now, even if it’s annoying for us. And, of course: Now the Bavarians should come. The whole of Münster has been looking forward to this game for a long time – and so have we,” said the Preußen coach.
