MSV Duisburg continues to drift towards the regional league. Celebrity fan Joachim Llambi is particularly annoyed with the harmless offense.
MSV Duisburg also lost their home game in the 3rd division against leaders Jahn Regensburg – the final score was 0:1. You could hardly blame the Zebras, who had to replace numerous injured players.
And Joachim Llambi, judge on the RTL show Let’s Dance and an ardent fan of MSV, had little to criticize this time. And that, although he is known for not mincing his words, even when talking about the Meiderich team.
He usually announces his view of things on Instagram after the games. This time was no different. First of all, he praised the attitude of coach Boris Schommers’ team: “One of the Zebras’ best games in recent weeks! They took on the fight and there were also some playful elements, especially in the second half. Müller was flawless in goal today, the defense was stable, but unfortunately there was too much space in the defensive midfield for Regensburg in the first half.”
While the defense seemed to have done its homework, Llambi had no good words for the offense. His opinion: “What I wonder, what are our strikers paid for? I once learned to score goals and make finishes on goal. Ginzcek, Esswein, Girth and Köpke probably cost a combined 80-100,000 euros a month. That’s about 1 million euros a year. I think you could have gotten one or two top strikers for that. Mannheim got hold of Boyd – who has already scored 3 goals in 2 games – certainly not for 1 million a year. Of course there are other strikers for that money. I don’t understand Schommer at all on the point of giving youth more chances. They can’t score less than zero goals either.”
Although the coach did at least put U19 top scorer Kaan İnanoğlu on the pitch, who has scored nine goals in ten U19 Bundesliga matches. Perhaps he will get more playing time in the upcoming games, as MSV faces SC Verl next weekend. Llambi looks ahead: “Next Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Verl, we have to score again. There are only 14 match days left. Have a good week everyone and hope springs eternal. Only MSV.”
Whereby the gap to the first non-relegation spot, occupied by Hallescher FC, is already eight points.
