Holzheimer SG and sporting director Simon Büttgenbach will end their collaboration in winter.
Büttgenbach moved from BV Wevelinghoven to Holzheimer SG in the summer of 2023 and accompanied the club through a successful phase, which culminated last year with promotion to the Oberliga.
“We would like to thank Simon for his dedicated work and our joint successes, especially for his contribution to the promotion to the Oberliga. We wish him all the best for his sporting and personal future,“ said the Holzheimer SG club board. ”I would like to thank the entire club for the trust they have placed in me and for the great time I had in Holzheim. My time in Holzheim was intense. There were difficult moments, but also many wonderful ones. The historic promotion to the Oberliga last summer will remain unforgettable. I would particularly like to thank my colleagues on the board, especially Michael Volz and Ingo Zimmermann. I would like to thank all the coaches, most recently Jesco Neumann, with whom I have a friendly relationship. I am also deeply grateful to all the officials. I would like to thank all the players of the past years for their trust in joining me on this journey. I am now taking a deep breath and looking forward to a new challenge. See you soon, dear HSG family. I am leaving as an official but will remain a fan,” says Büttgenbach. The club will provide information about the new appointment to the position of sporting director in due course. After twelve match days, Holzheimer SG is in eighth place in the table, with four wins, five draws, and three defeats to its name. This coming weekend—Sunday, November 9, 3 p.m.—Holzheimer SG will travel to 1. FC Monheim. Before the winter break, HSG will face Monheim, Hilden, Ratingen, and Schonnebeck before returning to action on February 1, 2026, against Kleve.
