Luka Bosnjak costs his ex-club victory, FC Büderich wins again, the Duisburg derby remains goalless. In Kleve, the match is overshadowed by a serious injury.
After Sportfreunde Baumberg, among others, led the way with a 2-1 win at KFC Uerdingen, the last five games of the second matchday in the Oberliga Niederrhein were on the agenda on Sunday afternoon. FC Büderich celebrates its second win, Schonnebeck and Velbert share the points, the derby between Hamborn and Homberg ends goalless.
The Schwalben from Schonnebeck started the season with a 1:0 home win against SC St. Tönis. On the second matchday, they went to TVD Velbert – on paper a more difficult task. However, the Velbert team was beaten 3-2 by Germania Ratingen at the start of the season.
Bosnjak equalises
The TVD suffered two early setbacks against the Spielvereinigung. First, Daniil Brazhko gave the visitors the lead (14th), and a little later Timo Brauer missed a penalty kick for a possible equaliser. So for a long time it looked like an away win. But in the second half, it was Luka Bosnjak, of all people, who played for Schonnebeck in 2018 until 2021, who scored the 1-1 equaliser (73rd) and ensured that at least one point stayed in Velbert.
The Duisburg derby between Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 and VfB Homberg was also a draw. However, there was no goal to be seen by the spectators in Holtkamp. VfB secured their second point of the season with a 0-0 draw, while Sportfreunde are only one point behind after a defeat at the start of the season.
Büderich give St. Tönis no chance
The situation is completely different for FC Büderich. The promoted team celebrated its next success after the opening victory against Sportfreunde Hamborn (2:1). Leon Lepper (45th), Jan Kühling (58th) and Abdelkarim Afkir (74th) ensured a clear 3:0 in St. Tönis. While some start the season with the maximum yield, the false start is perfect for the others. SC St. Tönis has no goals and no points after two games.
There was a duel between two winners of the first matchday in Kleve. Both FCK (against Mülheimer FC) and Germania Ratingen (against TVD Velbert) won 3:2. On the second matchday, Kleve got off to the better start and took the lead after just a few seconds through Niklas Klein-Wiele (1st).
Serious injury and division of points in Ratingen
Ratingen, however, did not let this upset them and turned the game around after only 25 minutes (16th/25th). Kleve had a great chance to equalise before the break, but Nedzad Dragovic missed from the spot (37th).
After the break, the game was a little quieter. The game was overshadowed by a serious knee injury to Simon Busch (62nd), who had to be taken away by ambulance. The ball rested for around 30 minutes, then play resumed.
After play resumed, the hosts pressed for the equaliser. Shuki Hamanosono’s attempt was saved on the line (90.+19), but shortly afterwards the Ratingen defence had nothing more to offer Diwan Duyar (90.+22). The score remained 2:2.
TSV Meerbusch wanted to build on their performance after the 3:2 over Union Nettetal at SV Sonsbeck – and they succeeded at first. Mohamed Benslaiman Benktib gave the visitors the lead after just 16 minutes. But in the second half, Klaus Keisers was on hand to prevent SV Sonsbeck’s second defeat (68th).
